Effective, Hands-On Therapies to Restore Your Health and Wellbeing

Treatment Techniques

At Holderness Therapy Services, we have developed a range of highly effective treatment techniques honed over many years. We utilise a combination of massage, joint manipulation and mobilisation, soft tissue release and mobilisation, myofascial release, electrotherapy, laser therapy (LLLT), and medical acupuncture. These manual therapy techniques are commonly employed by physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, and qualified massage therapists. We are not NHS-style physiotherapists – we are hands-on and have been since we started. Additionally, we are registered with all major insurance companies, allowing clients to claim back treatment costs according to their policy wording.

Neck and Back Pain

With extensive experience in treating neck conditions, our clinic specialises in assessment, treatment, and reporting on neck injuries for various medico-legal companies. We are also highly experienced in addressing general neck conditions caused by poor posture or working conditions. Our treatments effectively manage headaches related to neck issues and referred pain due to nerve impingement.

The majority of our treatments are related to back pain. Our methods are highly effective for assessing and treating back and neck conditions. Assessment and treatment will be carried out during your first session at no extra cost. Treatment may include massage, a wide range of soft tissue release techniques, joint mobilisation, and manipulation if required. Additionally, we provide self-help programmes to speed up recovery and stretch and strengthen areas of the body to help prevent the condition from returning. Other treatment methods may include medical acupuncture, electrotherapy, and laser therapy.

Muscle and Joint Problems

Our manual therapy techniques are highly proficient in addressing muscle and joint-related issues, providing effective relief from pain and restoring mobility throughout the body. We routinely assist clients with a variety of conditions impacting crucial areas such as the shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, hands, and feet. Whether it’s alleviating discomfort or enhancing flexibility, our treatments cater to diverse needs, ensuring comprehensive care for optimal recovery and well-being.

Arthritic and Mobility Problems

Many individuals with joint pain and restricted movement due to arthritis can benefit from improving the function of the soft tissue around the joint. Much of the pain often emanates from the soft tissue rather than the arthritic joint. While no treatment can reverse the effects of arthritis, our treatments can reduce pain and improve mobility. Soft tissue work and joint mobilisation are often very effective at improving mobility and reducing discomfort in those with compromised mobility.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) involves the application of red and near-infrared light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and provide relief for both acute and chronic pain.
